David Platt is encouraging radical devotion to Christ because this is what completes the will of God. All throughout the NT Jesus was telling His disciples to spread the good news, and make more disciples. God created all people, not just the ones who have heard of Him and/or believe in Him. He created the very ones who have never heard His name uttered. If reaching those tribes and people groups wasn't a big deal then the bible wouldn't emphasize the great commission.

Matthew 24:14 (Jesus said) "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."Melissa Irwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09256610689313147853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8413806641501062303.post-85743455543281695192010-11-02T13:00:08.986-05:002010-11-02T13:00:08.986-05:00hmm..i've never connected the return of Christ...hmm..i've never connected the return of Christ to all people groups being reached.alittlebitogracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15877901425923760323noreply@blogger.com
